Bowles is a registered charity which exists to contribute to the educational development of young people through the experience of adventurous activities.  Our corporate development and recreational provision is carried out through a trading subsidiary which covenants all its profits to the charity.  This "mixed economy" is a very effective way of making the Centre viable while still being able to offer affordable rates to deserving groups of young people.

Charitable users include a wide variety of disability groups and many disadvantaged young people, often from inner city environments.

Although it is possible in this way for Bowles to be self-sufficient in revenue terms, we are reliant on the generosity of others for capital development.  We are engaged in a constant fundraising process to improve the quality of provision and to provide bursaries for disadvantaged young people.
