Employers are clear that academic knowledge in their employees is not enough - they must be able to work effectively with others in a team context. To prepare students for the world of work, we must give them the opportunity to develop their personal and inter-personal skills and abilities.
The experiential learning cycle allows students to experiment with new behaviours in a variety of problem-solving tasks. Each task is then reviewed, when the learning is drawn out with the help of a facilitator. Students then consider how to apply what they have learned to their day-to-day environment and the future world of work.

Youth groups often want more of a recreational approach. While the educational potential of the outdoors can still be used, it is possible simply to do the activities for the fun and intrinsic satisfaction of learning a new skill. As with all our group courses, you may choose your own mix of activities.
